Breed profiling and discrimination
The New Yorker ran an article a while back that got my attention.
"Troublemakers - What pit bulls can teach us about
profiling"
It was a wonderful discussion comparing public policies regarding
criminal profiling and dog breed profiling. Much of Canada and many
communities in the US have used a wide brush and
over-generalized/discriminated against any "pit-bull-type" dog. This
article explains from a logical, almost scientific, perspective, the
stupidity of these incorrect and unhelpful generalizations.
