Yet another CMS
If you have been around for a while, you know that I like to mess up my site a lot. I like to try new CMS/blog systems all the time. Well today is no different.
Enter Wordpress. It has been a very long time since I last tried it, and boy, a lot has changed. It has the slickest installation I have seen yet. It is quite easy to understand. I am very impressed.
Normally, my migrations are painful. I usually have to write my own importing script, it almost never works properly. This time wordpress comes with some import scripts in the default distribution! And behold, a TextPattern import. I was quite impressed. Not only that it actually had a TextPattern import, but that it worked so well.
Now to compare Wordpress to Textpattern:
Pros:
* Easier install/configure
* Slicker management interface
* Easier to understand terminology
* Clean*er* URLs
Cons:
* No builtin text parser (Markdown, Textile)
* No separate section ability
* No fancy style editor

I originally used b2evolution for my blog after looking at a few. Months later I tried wordpress again & also noticed how much it had matured. Now I suggest it to anyone. Very sleek, simple to setup & with the number of plugins available it is VERY customizable.
