Dune: movie review

Last night I watched the movie Dune
I

will admit I am not a David Lynch fan. I have watched Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, and

Blue Velvet. All of them were strange and annoying. I usually like strange, but geez, these

were annoying.
Dune is a different movie, not quite a big Hollywood blockbuster, but

not the confusing, annoying Lynch movie. It was fairly interesting. The inner dialogue

being a voice over was over used. I understand using it for the main character, but

everyone? Oh well, I becan accustomed to it eventually. The links to the planet

Arakas being a desert planet which is the only source for the spice (necessary component of

space travel) was a little strange but interesting. (Iraq, desert, oil, etc.)
The

action scenes were a little sub par. The romance was not developed at all, and didn’t

seem necessary at all. Overall the movie was interesting, and hey Patrick Stewart

was in it.
